Successful Finish to 2011 Season. (14-11-2011)

Great win at Cavan international for home produced 7 year old Zancibar (oklund x Heartbreaker ) in the 6/7 year old championship final. Very rare situation as Alexander Butler and Kilian tied for 1st place with the exact same time . Kec ivory coast won a 1.20m qualifier and new horse to Sceilig Goodwins 007 jumped very consistently in the big classes finishing on 4 faults in the 1.50m Grand Prix, good result for first big show.

Great Result for Georgie d'Auvrey in Cavan Crystal 5 year old final. (18-09-2011)

Great results last week in Cavan. Georgie d'Auvrey ec was 2nd in the Cavan Crystal 5 year old Championship final. With 48 starters, 20 making it through to the 2nd round and 7 into the jump off, Georgie was first of only two treble clears, with the 3rd round finishing at 1.50m. Kec ivory Coast won a 1.20m qualifier and 2nd in a 1.10m qualifier . Annabeg du Carel was placed 7th in the 1.10m final on the sunday with 25 in the jump off it was a fast class!!

Banteer Show (5-09-2011)

Good results from Banteer show.Kilian took 3rd with Ivory Coast in the 1.20m and 3rd also with Georgie in the 1.20 /5yo section,also a good double clear with Annabeg du Carel in the same class left her just outside the placings.Zancibar had an unlucky 4 faults in the Munster Grand Prix Final. Claudia and Rustic Sunrise finished in 4th place in the 138cm Pony Premier class (1.20m). While Kathleen and Ivory Coast took 8th place in the 1.10m Greyhound night final.

Summer 2011 (1-09-2011)

As the summer Draws to a close, horses and riders at S.S.H Stables have had some very positive results and plenty of good jumping. Despite breaking his collar bone early in the summer, Kilian has qualified 3 young horses for the Cavan Indoor Championships in September.Georgie D'Auvrey for the 5 year olds , Zancibar and KEC Freefalling for the 6/7 year old classes. Zancibar is now jumping at 1.35m and qualified for the Boomerang final at Millstreet Show. He jumped superbly in the final with just a mistake in the combination keeping him out of the jump off. Well done to kathleen Cowhig who has had a great year with her horse Kec Ivory Coast , winning the amateur grand prix at Blessington show, taking 8th place in the amateur championship at Dublin Horse Show and enjoying their lap of honour in the main arena! Sophie Walsh and Ark Diamond also had a very positive Millstreet finishing 7th in the 1.35m jump off class and 3rd in the 1.20m 7 year old and over final. Congrats to Ellen Riordan who qualified her 4 year old mare Ironic for Dublin and was 2nd in the the 4 year old class at Clonmel Show. Claudia Walsh has had a great 2011 with her 138cm pony Rustic Sunsrise. 5th place in the Premier Pony series at Barnadown and also in the line up in the Pony Spring tour. Annabeg du Carel and Lady Clover Imp have both had a good summer and have won and been placed consistently at 1.20/1.10 level.

Piltown Show (27-8-2011)

Lady Clover Imp took 3rd in the 1.20 two phase class in the main arena. Zancibar had a clear round and 4 faults in the jump off in the 1.30m mini grand Prix.

RDS 2010.. (20-07-2010)

For the first time this year national riders competed to qualify for the international puissance at the Dublin Horse show. The Combination of Cyril Van de Mespel and Kilian showed good consistancy throughout the three qualifiers to take 1 of the 6 places available at the show. Another Sceilg Sport Horse rider Sophie Walsh and her horse Ark Diamond, and Simon McCarthy with Vunwheel H, both pupils with Kilian, have qualified for the 1.20m young riders class. Success at Spring Tour Grand Prix. (11-04-2010)

Cyril Van De Mespel Z took 6th place in the 2nd last leg of the Chippison Spring tour in Clare equestrian Centre with a double clear round with 43 starters and 13 making it through to the jump off. Rosandro also took 4th place in the 1.20m 2 phase.

Kill Champions of the Year Show (2-11-2009)

More Positive results from our last show of the season. Cyril Van de Mespel Z proved himself , taking joint 1st in the Saturday evening Allianz sponsored Puissance, which finished at 2 meters. On thursday Anders Helmrichs Uefa Retto won the 1.20m qualifier, also in the 1.10m Kilian took 4th place with Donal Healys HHS All Diamond, and Sceilig based young Rider Sophie Walsh took 6th on her own Ark Diamond. Sophie went on to ride a fast and accurate double clear in Saturdays 1.20m qualifier to secure her place in Sundays 1.20m final along with Uefa Retto and HHS All Diamond. HHS All Diamond Finished a successfully debut show with new rider Kilian taking third place in the 1.10m final. Paul o briens Rosandro had an unlucky 4 faults in the 1.10m final. The two five year olds Shannondale Sultan and Zancibar gained great experience over the 4 days jumping clears in the 1.20m..

Success at Kill indoor Horse Championships (12-10-2009)

Cyril van de Mespel Z Secured 2nd place in the 1.30m final at Kill International Equestrian Centre. With 7 through to the jump off Kilian and cyril Posted only 1 of three double clears. Zancibar also took 4th place in the 5 year old 1.20m final with 1 time fault from the first round.

We are delighted to report that Cyril has been selected to travel to Belgium for the european championships at the end of the month with 14 yr old Simon McCarthy, who has been a pupil of Kilian's for the last 12 months. Simon and cyril's place on the team was confirmed after a solid performance for the selectors at Mullingar where he was 5th in the 1.20m and 1st in the 1.30m. Best of luck !!

Ballyrafter Spring Finals (13-04-2009)

A successful day at the finals of the spring league at Ballyrafter Lismore Co. Waterford. Three horses from the Sceilig stable featured in the line up in the Red Mills Sponsored 1.10m class. Rosandro took 1st; the 5 year old Shannondale Sultan placed 4th both ridden by Kilian Browne and Ark Diamond 5th ridden by Sophie Walsh. Uefa Retto a new arrival to the yard took 2nd spot in the Odon Equestrian 1.20m final and later went on to win the 1.30m final ahead of stable mate Cyril Van de Mespel Z in 2nd place.
